Dr. Tara Sullivan

Dr. Tara Sullivan, PT, PRPC, WCS, IF, has been specializing in treating Pelvic Floor Dysfunction (PFD) since 2012. She focuses on treating bowel, bladder, sexual dysfunctions, and pelvic pain. Dr. Tara is also passionate about mentoring other pelvic health professionals and sharing her knowledge to enhance the patient care and spread awareness of pelvic health.

Dr. Tara joined HonorHealth to establish and expand the pelvic health program. Despite not having a mentor as a new graduate, she took several continuing education courses on the weekends to learn about pelvic health and hone her skills, often through self-practice. Recognizing the advantages of having a mentor, she proactively began mentoring other pelvic health professionals to ensure they have a more efficient learning curve in providing optimal patient care.

Dr. Tara’s teaching career began with guest lectures at local universities in Arizona, including Northern Arizona University, Franklin Pierce University, and Midwestern University. In 2019, she joined the faculty at Herman and Wallace Pelvic Institute. She started teaching the pelvic health series which she continues to teach throughout the year. Additionally, Dr. Tara authored “Sexual Medicine in Pelvic Rehab” and co-authored “Pain Science for the Chronic Pelvic Pain Population”.

Over the past 12 years, Dr. Tara was a clinical instructor for physical therapy students during their final rotation. She continues to mentor both in person and virtually, with a focus on building confidence and empowering practitioners to manage complex cases regardless of their level of experience. Her teaching method aims to equip pelvic health learners to deliver efficient, high-quality car. Dr. Tara holds a Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioner Certification (PRPC), making her an expert in pelvic rehabilitation for men, women, and children. Additionally, she is board-certified as a clinical specialist in women’s health (WCS) by the APTA and is a Fellow of the International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health (IF).

Dr. Tara is a lifelong learner who is currently pursuing a certificate through the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT) while attending the University of Michigan Sexual Counselor and Educator online program. She is very passionate about creating awareness around Pelvic Floor Dysfunction and has launched her website pelvicfloorspecialist.com to continue educating the public and other healthcare professionals.

In March 2024, Dr. Tara left HonorHealth after expanding the program to 12 locations across the valley. She then founded Mind to Body Healing (M2B) to continue spreading awareness on pelvic health, mentoring other healthcare providers, and incorporating sexual counseling into her pelvic floor physical therapy practice. She has partnered with Co-Owner Dr. Kylee Austin, PT, who was her previous student.

Dr. Kylee Austin, PT, DPT

Dr. Kylee Austin, PT, DPT started in the health and fitness field as a personal and group fitness trainer specializing in postpartum women’s fitness in 2013. Transitioning full time to the health and fitness career field from teaching elementary education when she had her first child. She has made a niche for herself working online and in person empowering moms, like herself, to embrace motherhood and a healthy lifestyle. She is a mother to three young boys, including twins, and has had a passion for pelvic health since going through her own postpartum and pelvic health issues as a young adult.

In 2021, Dr. Kylee, driven to gain more knowledge in this field, attended Northern Arizona University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. In 2023, she graduated from this program with distinction and obtained her doctorate and licensure. Dr. Kylee is an active member and volunteer with the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and the Pelvic Health Section of the APTA. She obtained her Pelvic Health Level 1 training with Herman and Wallace and completed a pelvic health clinical rotation with HonorHealth in Arizona. Her leadership experience also extends from her long background with Beachbody and leadership development within the YMCA organization.

Dr. Kylee hopes to bring her exercise and fitness background along with business, leadership, and social media skills to PelviEd to encourage others within their pelvic health careers . She looks forward to continue to work with and be mentored by Dr. Tara to provide healing and hope to all in a safe and inclusive environment. She manages the technical side of PelviEd, provides herself as the clinical model and educates on business, soft skills, and social media.

In her “free time” Dr. Kylee loves traveling, trying new foods, and reading (mostly smut). She loves working out and has found a fun passion for fitness at F45, or any where she can lift heavy weights. She can usually be found running around after her 3 boys!

Dr. Shannon Giovannoli, DPT, M.Ed, NBCT

Dr. Shannon Giovannoli, DPT, MA, NBCT, brings a diverse background in education, administration, and health promotion to their role as Executive Director at PelviEd. With a solid foundation as a National Board Certified English teacher for 15 years, Dr. Shannon has positively impacted numerous students through her dedication to academic excellence and personal growth. Over her tenure in the classroom, Dr. Shannon served in pivotal roles, including student advocacy, curriculum development, grade-level lead, district-wide Curriculum Specialist, and Behavioral Specialist. Dr. Shannon also served as a district-wide Academic Coach for new teachers. She has also been instrumental in building academic and elective programs from the ground up to enhance student learning and engagement.

Transitioning into school administration, Dr. Shannon gained valuable experience in both public school and nonprofit education sectors, where she developed a deep understanding of program management and strategic leadership.

Dr. Shannon is a dedicated advocate for community health and physical fitness, currently serving as the Director of Kids and Teens Programming at WildFire CrossFit. With a profound passion for promoting wellness among youth, she spearheads initiatives aimed at fostering lifelong well-being. Dr. Shannon’s commitment extends beyond her administrative role; she is a certified L2 coach and a certified Kids coach, enabling her to effectively mentor and guide individuals of all ages in achieving their fitness goals. Her expertise also includes Adaptive and Inclusive Training, accredited through the Adaptive Training Academy, further enhancing her ability to cater to diverse populations. Dr. Shannon’s leadership exemplifies her unwavering dedication to inspiring healthy lifestyles and empowering others through physical activity.

In 2021, Dr. Shannon made a pivotal career shift by pursuing a Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Northern Arizona University. This decision allowed Dr. Shannon to merge her passions for teaching, mentoring, and health and wellness, further enhancing her ability to positively impact individuals and communities.

With a steadfast commitment to education, health, and community service, Dr. Shannon brings a unique blend of expertise and dedication to her role as Executive Director of PelviEd. Her journey is a testament to her unwavering commitment to improving lives and empowering others through education and health initiatives, reassuring all those she works with of her dedication and mission.
